Top quality professional jazz comes to Parker’s Tavern bar every Friday. Sip away at Parker’s Tavern signature cocktails and enjoy the swinging sounds of some amazing UK based jazz professionals. Trios led by charismatic and highly regarded saxophonists Sam Miles and Tim Boniface make Parker’s Tavern the place to go for jazz on a Friday night, 7:30-10pm. All are welcome, no booking required.

New Year's Gala Party

Ring in the New Year at University Arms with an evening of elegance with our Gala party package. Begin the evening in the Ballroom welcomed with Champagne and canapés with live jazz before heading into Parker’s Tavern for a 5-course tasting menu, featuring mushroom consommé & truffle, roasted Orkney scallop with BBQ lettuce sauce, crispy fried lamb sweetbreads & bacon with potato, Tunworth cheese & pickled shallots, complete with live entertainment throughout. Finish the evening back in the ballroom for a Gala party, dancing the evening away and toasting to new beginnings before retiring to your bedroom.

Overnight stay and breakfast included. Rates from £500 for two adults. Gala dinner + party £145 per adult. Party only £65 per adult.

We invite you to join us in our library for an evening exploring the concept of dryness in wines with Cong Cong Bo.

January is a tough enough month already without removing joyous alcoholic beverages from the equation. Instead, we propose a tasting of wines that explore the concept of dryness. Join award-winning sommelier and Master of Wine candidate, Cong Cong Bo, in Parker’s Tavern for a flight of wines that will explore and challenge what it means for a wine to be “dry”.

'Try January' with Bert Blaize

We welcome Norfolk-based wine expert and drinks writer Bert Blaize to host a wine tasting ‘Try January’ in our library on Thursday 16th January, 6pm. We invite you to begin the new year trying something new and discover your new favourite wine with lesser known grapes, countries and regions. Whether you’re new to wine or a seasoned enthusiast, Bert Blaize will guide you through these unique wines, paired with a menu curated by chef Lee Clarke, encouraging you to try new styles, varietals, and pairings you might not have considered before.

£30 per person, includes four wines and four pairings.
